Be part of something special in Alaska.

Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, is home to nearly 300,000 people, roughly 40% of Alaska’s population. It holds the distinction of being the most diverse city in the US, with approximately 100 languages spoken in the Anchorage school district. In a recent census, about 70% of the population indicated that they do not belong to a church or even identify with a religion, giving Alaska the unfortunate title of the least religious state.

Anchorage also grapples with high addiction and suicide rates, with human trafficking becoming more prevalent. However, where there is darkness and no hope, the light of the Gospel can shine the brightest and bring hope—the hope of Jesus Christ. Echo Church will join forces with other great kingdom-minded churches and organizations in the city to see people come to know Jesus as their Savior.

About Us

We are Jax and Inette, married for 12 years and native to Roodepoort, South Africa. Following our marriage, we settled in Pretoria, where our sons were born, and where I dedicated most of my full-time ministry years. Inette pursued a career in the tourism industry, while together, we faithfully served the local church and organized annual youth camps.

Our family includes two sons: Rovan, our eldest, embodies an adventurous spirit and outgoing nature, coupled with a compassionate heart for the less fortunate and the lonely.

Milan, our youngest, possesses wisdom beyond his years, with a reserved demeanor and a profound empathy for the marginalized. He loves nature and admires its beauty and intricate details. Both of them love the Lord and share our excitement to be a blessing to the young and old in Alaska.

Our Mission

We want the Gospel of Jesus Christ to echo throughout Alaska.

For many years, we have sensed God’s call to Anchorage, although we initially regarded it as just a dream. Why would God call a family from South Africa to the great state of Alaska? However, God has revealed to us that He planted this dream in our hearts, and we obediently responded to His call. We stand in amazement at how God has opened doors for us to relocate to Anchorage.

Our hope is that people in Alaska would come to Know God and experience His love for them. We want people to Find Family and to know they have a place they can call home. We want people to Live in Freedom by helping them heal from past/present hurts and addictions. We want people to Discover their Purpose and the role they can play in God’s Kingdom.

Know God. Find Family. Live in Freedom. Discover Purpose.

Why Alaska?

Anchorage is Alaska’s largest city. In a recent census about 70% of the population indicated that they do not belong to a church or even identify with a religion, giving Alaska the unfortunate title of the least religious state. Anchorage has high addiction and suicide rates and is a part of the leading cities of human trafficking. Where there is darkness and no hope, the light of the Gospel can shine the brightest and bring hope, the hope of Jesus Christ.

Please consider partnering with us and help bring change to Alaska.
